“I would like to extend my gratitude to United States Senator Senator Ron Johnson for the Bill of the Halt Act (origin author of the SOFA Act) that was signed into law by the President this past July at a White House event we had the privilege of all attending. This is a shadow box of the Bill with a handwritten note from the Senator and the President’s pen used to sign this legislation into law. Dr. Timothy Westlake and I both received this from the Senator in recognition of our tireless efforts over the past decade to advocate for this legislation regarding Fentanyl. Truly touched by his thoughtfulness with this keepsake gift! Saving Others for YOU Archie, and all the Others that lost their life too soon, due to fentanyl. This has all come full circle, and I am beyond grateful.”

The mission of SOFA INC. shall be to serve grassroots education and awareness efforts in the furtherance of substance use prevention through raising awareness of the relationship between substance use disorder and mental health issues.

Our Mission

In 2014, 19 year old Archie Badura was one of the 622 people who died of an opioid overdose in Wisconsin.

Archie’s family did not want his death to be in vain, and started an awareness campaign to highlight the dangers of opioids and the toll that substance use disorder can have on families.
